Pandemic Promoting

First and foremost, I need to start with a disclaimer - Just like everyone else, I know nothing for sure when it comes to the pandemic. There is no “tried and true” method to navigating the music industry while both staying safe and thriving. For reasons that should seem obvious, standard concerts are going to have to be put on the back burner for a while. Venues are likely not going to be able to fill their venue enough to break even and bands want to do what’s socially responsible. Losing a major facet of our community is heartbreaking. But I argue that this Pandemic is going to allow artists to, as they say, “make it!”

The COVID-19 Pandemic is causing local artists to rethink how they get their music to fans and promote themselves. Bedroom Pop has been on the rise for a while and this different level of production and quality will allow the quantity of music being released to stay on the same level as before, if not more.

But what about promoting a band’s image? No longer will concert photos cut it if a band wants to set themselves apart from their local scene and become not so local. It’s time for bands to find their niche in branding. It’s time for artists to connect with another side of art - editorial photography! It’s time to think outside the confines of your local scene!

Shameless self plug - I know that can feel overwhelming with all the different elements that can come with the business side of creating music, as if from the actual music creation wasn’t enough. That’s why during the rise in numbers, I’m offering hour consultations for $20 instead of it’s normal $40. I can connect you with the people you need and help you find the path you and your band want to go down.
